You mean there’s more WORK to do!?!
You’ve got your marketing video for your small business made, but what now? You need to promote it to get as many eyeballs on it as possible.
YouTube is #2
Your first stop is YouTube. The first thing that you’re going to want to do is upload your video to YouTube. YouTube is the number TWO Search Engine! You might be wondering about Bing, AOL, Yahoo and Ask. YouTube may not be designed as a search engine, but it has over 3 BILLION searches every month! That’s more than those other four combined. WOW! 🔥🔥
Another thing to remember about YouTube is that it’s owned by Google, which is, of course, the number ONE search engine. Google loves video and especially YouTube videos.
Website, Blog, Vlog
Once your video is on YouTube, grab the embed code right there on YouTube and embed it into your website. That helps with SEO, search engine optimization because videos are so popular, they rank higher and faster on search engines. Google loves Google and since Google owns YouTube, they’re going to find when you do a search lots of YouTube videos come up at the top of a search.
You can simply embed the video and make the video your entire blog, which is called a Vlog, Video Blog.
You can also do just like I did with the video above. I embedded the video and am including the text, edited a bit to fit a blog. This works best if you transcribe your video. I’ve tried transcribing my videos and it is tedious, so I prefer to send them off for transcription.
I always recommend having your videos transcribed for several reasons.
- It helps with SEO.
- Accessibility for Viewers that are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Create your Blog
- Increased viewability in certain environments (I’ve heard some people work with their sound off at the office🤔)
Another option if you have a product demonstration or promotion, embed the video on the product or sales page.
Newsletter 📧
Make sure you send your video out in your e-newsletter. You want to send it out to all of your prospects and your current customers. Include your video and also send them to your blog. While most people prefer video, some do prefer to read it. That’s why I like doing a blog instead of just a vlog.
Get Social
The final place after you’ve done that is to make sure you tell everyone else about it by putting it on all of the social media platforms that you’re on. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, make sure to get them all. If it’s evergreen, make sure you set it up to share often too!
Videos on social media get 10 times more comments, shares and likes than other posts.
Bonus Tip!
Take your video and cut numerous short clips out of it, four to six seconds each. You can share those short videos on social media and lead them back to your blog with your full video.
Blogs on this site may contain Amazon and other affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission.
