Are you Engaging on Instagram?
One key way to attract the right Instagram Followers is through targeted engagement. You want followers, but just any old follower won’t do! You want to target followers that are most likely to be your potential customer.
Instagram Business Account
Make sure that you have an Instagram business account. The reason for that is that you can look at insights once you have a business account. However, if you’ve just turned your account into a business account, you won’t see those insights on previous posts. Insights only show up on posts that are posted after the account becomes a business account.
That’s why you need to make sure to go ahead and turn it into a business account as soon as possible because you start seeing insights on those posts once you’ve become a business account, not on older posts prior to not being a business account.
Instagram Insights
Ever wonder when you should be posting on Instagram? That’s what your insights are for. They tell you when your followers are online and active. That is really important when you are posting because you don’t want to post during a time or day when your followers aren’t online and aren’t active. Use those insights to determine what time and what days are most important for you to post on Instagram.
You will know what days are the most important and also what time is the best every day to post. Use those insights to determine what time and what days are most important for you to post on Instagram so you aren’t posting when your followers aren’t online and aren’t active.
Tag, You’re It!
A post with the location tagged on Instagram will get more engagement than a post without a location. Add a location tag when you’re out. If you’re not at a location you want to tag, go ahead and tag your own business location. The way that you do that is to make sure that your Facebook page is set up
Make sure that your Facebook page is set up with your location in the About section so that it also comes up as a “Place”. This will allow you to tag your business location on Instagram.
#Hashtag
You probably know by now that hashtags are really important on Instagram. Make sure that you research your hashtags and aren’t using a banned hashtag. If you do, then your post won’t get seen.
Also, make sure you’re putting the hashtags in your first comment, not the original post. The reason for this is that it is a lot neater when people are scrolling through their feed not to see the hashtags in the post.
Engaging
Make sure to you engage your customers and potential customers. That means ask questions and have engaging posts. If you are asking a question, don’t just include it in the post text, type it on the picture. Many people may scroll through and not read all of the text, but will see it if it’s on your picture.
You can even ask short and sweet questions like: “What are you doing for the long weekend? How are you spending this week? How are you getting ready? What goals are you setting?”
LOVE 💜
To get love, you have to give love. When you have people commenting and liking your posts, reciprocate! Especially those followers that are your ideal followers.
You should have a list of ideal followers that you make sure to like and comment on their posts. That’s the way that you are going to build and keep up that relationship on Instagram.
Contests to Gain Instagram Followers
One way to increase your followers is to run a contest. If you’re looking to increase your number of ideal followers and not just the number of followers, make sure you choose a prize that your ideal followers are going to want. When you run the contest, give them a checklist of a few things to do to enter. For example: Follow us on IG, Tag a friend that may be interested in our page, and repost this post to your feed. Here’s an example of an Instagram Contest:
