Without goals, how will you reach your goals?
Social Media Goals can often be overlooked when you are creating and curating content to post. However, if you don’t set goals, you don’t know if what you are doing is working or not.
Yearly, Monthly & Weekly Goals
Just like your content, you want to break your Social Media Goals down into much smaller and more manageable goals. If you have 12 months to reach your goal, when are you going to start thinking about it? A month out? That’s setting yourself up to fail!
You’ll want to determine your yearly goal and then break that down into monthly and weekly goals so that you know if you are on target, if you need to step things up a bit or even if you are exceeding your goals. 💥💥
Don’t set yourself up for failure!
Don’t set completely unrealistic and unattainable goals. For instance, if your starting on Instagram and have 100 followers, exploding it to 20,000 in a year is a bit unrealistic. Work it for a month and see what you reach and then plan from there. Don’t forget to push yourself. If you get 400 followers in a month, consider stretching your goal to 450 or 500 per month!
Pen (or pencil) to paper
I know I say this a lot, but just like everything else in your social media plan, you need to write them down, review them and see what’s working and what’s not. Again, I do all of this in pencil so that I can adjust my goals as things change. If I find a sweet spot and am gaining lots of traction I’m not going to decide that I’ve met my goal and slow down! Keep it up and revise those goals!
Engagement can help you REACH your goals!
Engaging with your community can help boost your social media presence. If someone comments or tweets to you, REPLY! It shows your community that you are present (there’s someone behind the curtain). You can even try the double comment approach. When someone comments, answer and also include another question. The more comments you get the more the algorithms notice that your content is important and it will get an organic boost!
