Increase Productivity with a Smart Notebook

I love downsizing and organizing tips because I have a plan to move into a Tiny House. I’ll be vacationing in one this summer, so we’ll see how it goes. There’s a new gadget out that can help you increase productivity: a smart notebook!

You will see them referred to as a reusable notebook, smart notebook, erasable notebook, intelligent notebook, smart journal and any other countless number of things. I purchased a Rocketbook Everlast, so I’ll refer to it as Rocketbook!

I’m a pretty big note taker, always have been. I like making notes so that I can go back later and refer to them to refresh my memory.

One of the biggest issues when downsizing is what to do with all of those notes. I often find that because I don’t have anywhere to really put them, they are stacked up and I’m less likely to go back and review them.

This can also be an organizing headache. How do you find time to put them in their place and have it be a system you can keep up with? I for one have notebooks and notepads on my desk taking up space.

Enter the Rocketbook!

Who has time to scan all of their notes in from every meeting? Now I do!!

I was introduced to the Rocketbook at a meetup by April Wier, with Sugar 5 Design. She was taking notes on it and I was intrigued. She showed me how it works and told me how much she loves hers, so I immediately went to Amazon and ordered my own.

How it works

The Rocketbook has a special pen that you write with and once you are done taking your notes, you simply X the icon at the bottom to tell Rocketbook where you want the notes to go. You then scan the pages with the Rocketbook app and you’re done!

Setup

The first thing you need to do is determine where your notes are going to go.

Rocketbook has 7 icons that you can assign a destination location. Based on the X, Rocketbook delivers your notes to its specified location. It could be a Dropbox folder, Google Drive folder, email address, Slack, Evernote and many more!

Once you’ve sent the pages to the correct destination, you simply use a wet cloth and wipe it off and reuse it! How brilliant is that!?!

As you can see, it saves time and paper and organizes things for you. I can already tell that this is going to be a huge productivity boost for me. The best part is that it’s completely erasable and reusable!

I also love my highlighters and plan to get some of them to use. You do have to use special pens and highlighters so that it works, but they are relatively inexpensive.
