Use Video in your Online Strategy
Are you a small business struggling to incorporate the video into your online marketing strategy? This week, I’m going to give you my top 5 Small Business Video Tips.
1 – Text
Did you know that for Facebook, over 85% of videos that are watched with the sound off? This means that if you’re sharing a video on Facebook you need to have one of two things: Text on a short video or for longer videos, they should be transcribed.
If it’s a really short video you can have a short video with lots of texts going across so that you can figure out what’s going on with that or if you’ve got a longer video and your talking similar to the one above, what you need to do is have the video transcribed so that the text will scroll across the bottom of the video when they’re watching it online. (TIP: Stay tuned for a really good tip in an upcoming blog about transcriptions!)
2 – Slideshow
You can do a slideshow and turn that into a video. I know you have lots of images on your phone, especially if you’re a pet business!
If you’re doing a promotion and you’ve got different images of the product, how it’s being used and highlighting different features, just do a slideshow of that and put that together really quick and there you got your video!
3 – Live Stream
Go live and talk to your customers and potential customers and give them a behind the scenes glimpse of your business!
If you are a pet store and have pets coming in, picking out toys and sampling some treats, that is a perfect opportunity to a go live because who doesn’t want their pets on a Facebook? Don’t forget to tell them to share it with their friends!
I really like live stream because it helps people get to know and trust you much faster than any other online method but sometimes people have a fear of getting in front of the camera. However, remember that you don’t actually have to be on camera to show a pet sniffing toys and sampling treats.
4 – Testimonials/Interview
Ask your current customers if you can do a short video testimonial next time they come in. That is a really good way to have your potential customers actually hear from your current customers and really get a feel for how much they enjoy and love your business.
You can also do an interview style if you’ve got someone that is going to be really interesting that you can interview them and talk about some different things that really are incorporated into your business. It’s great to have an expert and interview them on camera.
5 – Video Minis!
Let’s get to one of my favorites! My Video Minis! They are a new product that I came out with last year and have been extremely popular.
I currently have two different versions of them, the first has different images with text on the screen. Check out this example of one I posted on Facebook:
The second has a background video that I superimpose text and/or images onto. Check out this Video Mini I did recently for a client:
My video minis are typically well under a minute because – SQUIRREL – you need to grab their attention! For all of my video minis, I like to have the logo and/or website on them. They are also a square shape because that shares really well on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Blogs on this site may contain Amazon and other affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission.
