Do You Have a GMB Account for Your MLM?
If you are an independent consultant for an MLM (Multi-level Marketing) you’re always thinking of ways to market your business and get in front of as many people as possible, but have you considered Google My Business (GMB)?
For those wondering exactly what an MLM is, think Mary Kay, Scentsy, doTerra, The Pampered Chef and MANY more!!
First things first, you need to look at your specific MLM rules and guidelines to make sure that you are allowed to set it up. While I’ve seen some setup with the name of the MLM in the GMB business name listing, I personally don’t recommend it. You need to check and make sure you are not infringing on their rights.
Set up GMB NOW!
I recommend coming up with a business name that truly embodies what it is you do, without listing your MLM. For instance, one of my favorites is “Margaret’s Magical Manis”. You know it’s all about nails but doesn’t have her MLM in the title. Check out her fabulous GMB page!
Because GMB helps with Local SEO, people in the same geographic area as Margaret may be looking for a nail salon “near me” and see her GMB post. She’s posting pictures and relevant specials on her page. Instead of heading to the salon, they may give Margaret a call or check out her website if they aren’t familiar with her product! This means new customers in the door!
I have another favorite, Holistic Pet Mentor, LLC. It doesn’t have the name of the MLM in the title, but you know it’s all about helping pets, the natural way.
Your GMB account will have a place to tell all about your business. You’re given up to 1000 characters to tell what it is you do. Use that to say that you are an Independent Consultant for XYZ MLM.
Promote those Free Offers, Special Deals and Events!
Your GMB account can lead to your website or your MLM sales page. Don’t forget that you can use this site as FREE Advertising. You should be posting on it weekly! If you have a booth at an upcoming event, post about it! Any specials or maybe you’ve got some great deals on your Facebook Page or Group. Send people there.
Are you collecting email addresses to promote to your customers and potential customers? Offer a Freebie to get them to sign up!
Takeaways
Every MLM has different guidelines, make sure you are not in violation of them before you set your account up. Once you’ve claimed your account, fill out everything! Yes, Fill out as much as you can. Especially the 1000 character “From the Business” section. This is where you can really talk about what you do and is great for Local SEO.
Blogs on this site may contain Amazon and other affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission.
